Royal Tyrrell Dinosaur Museum
This project was a big one for us. In fact, it was the single largest order we’ve sent out of province. It all started with a phone call from the design team at the Royal Tyrrell Museum. They were looking for a reclaimed wood that could easily be secured to a new feature exhibit they were building. Immediately we thought of stikwood. We sent a bunch of samples to the team in Alberta and after months of deliberation, we were successfully awarded the project. We supplied 2000 square feet of reclaimed wood to this project. To give you an idea of how much wood that is, if you lined up every piece end to end, it would stretch almost 1.5 KM’s. The end result was spectacular and our reclaimed wood was the perfect backdrop to show all those dinosaur bones. Stikwood is a very thin piece of real reclaimed wood with a patented 3M peel and stick tape applied to the back. Stikwood can be applied to any painted surface and once it’s installed, it becomes a permanent installation. The lightweight planks make for a very quick project, whether it be a headboard, a backsplash, a feature wall, a fireplace or a dinosaur museum exhibit.
