One of the most common upgrades made during a home renovation is replacing the existing floors. But while it may be the most common renovation, it certainly isn’t an easy one. Selecting the right material, the perfect colour and then the best installer can be a long process – as it should be!
Every flooring material has its advantages and disadvantages. We love clients who ask a lot of questions; more questions often results in happier clients! When it comes to colour, we encourage our clients to take home as many samples as possible. These samples will give you a better indication of what the flooring will look like with your lighting, wall colour, cabinets and furniture. Keep them for a while; look at them at different times of the day. And as for your flooring contractor, experience is key. Look for a team who doesn’t skip important details such as floor leveling, quality underlay, and finishing details – such as staircases, transitions, baseboards and door trim.
The Eco Floor Store recently supplied and installed over 2,400 square feet of engineered hardwood by Kentwood Floors in a home renovation in Langley. The homeowner, a local real estate agent, had an excellent eye for detail. She selected 3 1/2″ x 3/4″ wide wire brushed Oak in the colour “Ash”. The planks come in assorted lengths of up to ~48″ which helps create a stunning floor.
The updated floors completely transformed her home!
