Distressed (not really) Ladder Shelf: Custom Furniture

Fun and functional! This ladder shelf is 80″ high with four shelves in depths of 4″ to 16″. Designed to be flush against the wall, we custom built this shelving unit for a space in our home.

How to Tea Stain: Naturally Aged Wood

tea bagsWe used an all natural aging process to make all of our custom shelves look like reclaimed wood. Our secret ingredient? Tea!

Using tea, steel wool and vinegar, along with a hammer and some arm muscles, we tea stained each shelf to give them that “well used” look.
