Project Profile: Chewies at Coal Harbour

Steamed, stewed or nude. Those are your options at the new Chewies in Coal Harbour!

The highly anticipated second location for the Vancouver restaurant Chewies Steam & Oyster Bar is now open. Located at #110-1055 West Hastings Street in Vancouver, Chewies is serving up their delicious menu in a trendy space filled – and we mean FILLED – with reclaimed barn wood tiles (bet you thought we were going to say oysters!).

Supplied by The Eco Floor Store and installed by Woodrose Woodworking, the environmentally friendly barn wood wall tiles adorn over 20% of the walls at Chewies – Coal Harbour. From the decorative half-walls at the entrance and in between tables to the front of the expansive bar and the entire wall behind the bar, there is over 1,000 sq.ft of  timberline in natural, 3″x24″ vertical barn wood tiles in the restaurant.

We love the rustic look the eco-friendly wall surface gives the space! Here’s a photo of the front of the bar during construction:
